Operations
In 1992 we started operating a mobile food, medical and clothing service for London's homeless and vulnerable over the Christmas holiday week, using a 40 foot articulated lorry and other vehicles.
From Christmas 2000, we changed our service to staff day centres that would otherwise be closed. Over Christmas, we served cooked meals and hot drinks and provide companionship to those who join us for Christmas.
As well as serving the homeless themselves, by providing this cover, the London Mobile Christmas Service enabled those who work permanently with the homeless to take a break and enjoy Christmas with their families.
With improved services over Christmas, from 2013 we have changed the focus of the
charity and are working throughout the year with the homeless. Our
particular emphasis is to provide "starter packs" for those being housed
