Thanks again to the fabulous LMCS who continue to welcome our customers to their new homes by offering them a ‘starter pack’. This is usually made up of much appreciated basics such as cutlery, cooking utensils and bed linen. Who among us have not moved into a new home wishing they had a kettle and a cup to make their first cup of tea? Our customers are grateful for your generosity. |

The charity is now working throughout the year with the homeless. Our
particular emphasis is to provide "starter packs" for those being housed.
There's more to helping people off the streets than just providing accommodation. Moving into an unfurnished flat with absolutely nothing can be a dispiriting experience, without even a kettle mug and teaspoon to make tea. Previously, crisis loans were available, to help those moving in with nothing;
but these have been discontinued.
Starter pack contents vary, but typically include:
- duvets, pillows, bed linen, towels,
- electric toaster, electric kettle, sometimes a microwave,
- crockery, cutlery, pots and pans,
- kitchen utensils, tea towels
- cleaning materials etc.
The cost varies but it averages around £100+ a pack if we include
everything. A small amount of money that can make a real difference.

Letter from a rough sleeper to CHC (Cricklewood Homeless Concern, now Ashford Place), who helped him start in new accommodation, and provided a Starter Pack from us.
